Archive: Aquarium Open During Long Beach Grand Prix

The Aquarium of the Pacific will be open for normal business hours during the Long Beach Grand Prix on April 13-15, 2018.

However, due to heavy traffic and street closures, there will be detours, possible traffic delays, and alternate parking that may require shuttle service to the Aquarium. Before visiting, please check below for detailed directions and parking information. Click here for available discounts

Thursday April 12

From the 710 freeway all traffic will be routed off at Broadway. Guests should turn right on Magnolia, left on Ocean Blvd, right on Chestnut, left on Shoreline Drive and enter the Aquarium parking structure on the right. This is the only available entrance to our parking structure on this day. The structure will be closed off promptly at 6:00 p.m., so all guest vehicles must have exited the structure by this time.

For those guests traveling from within Long Beach, take Ocean Blvd West. Turn left at Chestnut, turn left at Shoreline Drive and enter the Aquarium parking structure on the right hand side. This is the only available entrance to our parking structure on this day. The structure will be closed off promptly at 6:00 p.m., so all guest vehicles must have exited the structure by this time.

Friday April 13

From there, guests will be directed by an Aquarium Security Officer to the nearest available parking lot. Shuttles will be available to transport guests from the more remote lots, but the walking path will be open for those who wish to use them.

For those guests traveling from within Long Beach, take Ocean Blvd West. Turn left at Magnolia/Queensway, and take the immediate right-hand offramp for “Golden Shore/Catalina Landing”. From there, guests will be directed by an Aquarium Security Officer to the nearest available parking lot. Shuttles will be available to transport guests from the more remote lots, but the walking path will be open for those who wish to use them.

Saturday/Sunday April 14-15

The Pike Parking structure will not be honoring the Aquarium rate during Grand Prix weekend (April 13-15) and will be charging the full Grand Prix parking rate. We advise Aquarium visitors to not park in the Pike structure from April 13-15.
