The Aquarium of the Pacific’s annual International Children’s Day is a special festival for kids.

Celebrating the amazing talents of children of many cultures, this festival features West African, Mexican, Pacific Islander, Cambodian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Persian dance performances. Enjoy performances by an international children’s choir and martial arts demonstrations. Kids of all ages can partake in a percussion circle, face painting, Japanese origami, Native American crafts, and Pacific Islander traditional children’s games.

The Aquarium will also honor a local youth with its annual Young Hero Award in recognition of his or her efforts to make our planet a better place.

  • 1:40 p.m. West African Dance – Dembrebrah
  • 2:30 p.m. Cambodian Traditional Dance – Spirit of Khmer Angkor
  • 3:10 p.m. Mexican Folkloric Dance – Estrellas de Santa Rosa de Lima
  • 4:00 p.m. Japanese Traditional Dance – Fujima Seiyumi Kai


  • 10:40 a.m. Martial Arts Demonstration – American Tiger Martial Arts and Fitness
  • 11:45 a.m. Pacific Islander Performance – Na Hoa O Ka Hale Kanu
  • 12:20 p.m. 2016 Young Hero Award honoring Mikaila Baumel
  • 12:55 p.m. Mexican Folkloric Dance – Folklorico del Mar
  • 1:40 p.m. International Drum & Percussion Circle – Ambianz Muzic Experienz
