School Sleepovers

The Aquarium’s sleepover programs offer a very unique and exciting way to view and explore ocean life. Through our school sleepovers, students participate in hands-on activities, games, crafts, and observe marine animals with our education staff guiding the evening events.

School Sleepover Program Information

Program Details
Availability Mondays and Wednesdays (based on availability)
Cost $50 per person. One free chaperone per 10 students.
Group Size 20 person minimum/ 60+ person Maximum (may be approved for more)
Included Dinner, light snack, cereal breakfast, and a souvenir t-shirt.
Times 5:00pm - 7:15am the next morning

Choose from our four different focuses for your sleepover experience.

Give your students an overview of ocean biodiversity while investigating marine birds, mammals, reptiles, fish, and invertebrates in Crazy Creatures form Dusk till Dawn. Introduce ocean food webs and predator prey relationships in our Predator, Prey, and Pajamas sleepover program. Our Sensational Sea Life sleepover focuses on our incredible local Southern California’s habitats. Reveal myths and learn new facts while taking a closer look at the specialized adaptations of sharks during our sleepover Spotlight on Sharks!

6th-12th Grade Sleepovers

We offer three different sleepovers for our older students.

Tour behind the scenes, build your own mini aquarium, and learn about ocean related careers in our Oceans of Opportunity program. Our Sensational Sea Life sleepover focuses on our incredible local Southern California’s habitats. Compare out local marine ecosystems to those found in the tropical Pacific, while learning about plankton and coral in The Reef that Never Sleeps.

Special Sleepover Programs

Our partners at the Long Beach Marine Institute (LBMI) provide a truly unique sleepover experience.

LBMI staff tour students through the Aquarium before starting an exciting activity filled night on their docked vessel. Students sleep on the vessel and enjoy breakfast the next morning in the Aquarium.
