School Scholarship Application Form

Thanks to support from donors, the Aquarium offers scholarships for schools to lower the financial barriers of participating in a field trip.

The Aquarium’s scholarship program provides free admission, or a self-guided field trip, to the Aquarium. It does not include the cost of a bus. Schools are responsible for arranging transportation.

Scholarship visits are provided on a first-come first-serve basis. If no dates are available when your application is approved, your school will be placed on a waiting list. If your application requires updating, please contact aopscholarship@lbaop.org.

Capacity is limited. Scholarship applications requesting more than 150 students per day will be more challenging to serve. Please note: March, April, and May dates are in high demand and availability is even more limited during that time.

The Aquarium of the Pacific is grateful to the donors who have made these field trips possible.

Eligibility Requirements

Non-profit schools accredited by the California Department of Education seeking visits by student-teacher groups in conjunction with school curriculum are eligible. Schools must fall into one of the following categories:

  • Schools receiving Title 1 funding through the state of California
  • Schools with 40% or more of the student body qualifying for free or reduced-priced meals (FRPM)

As part of your application process, you will be asked to provide information about your school including the 14-digital CDS code. Find your CDS Code here.

Notes

  • After-school programs, extra-curricular school clubs, day-care affiliated programs, and other non-accredited organizations are not eligible to apply. For more information on group rates that may be available, visit Group Sales.

Providing the school's CDS code, Title 1 status, FRMP, and other details eases the eligibility verification process. Thank you for your help in completing your application.
