School Videoconferencing Scholarship Application

We appreciate your interest in the Aquarium of the Pacific. The primary intent of the School Videoconferencing Scholarship Program is to minimize the financial barrier and enable schools with few or no resources to benefit from our Aquarium educational programs.

In order to participate in the program, schools need to already be set up with their own videoconferencing equipment with H.323 capability in order to connect with the Aquarium’s virtual classroom. Examples of H.323 capable videoconference units are made by companies such as Cisco and Polycom. These units have 2 way audio and camera capabilities and connect through the internet using an IP address. Connection will be made by calling our IP address at 65.255.201.61 to connect to our virtual classroom. Please check with your school or district to see if these can be made available for use in your program.

Each 50 minute class has capacity for 35 students. Please complete an application for each requested program. To view our program selections and details, please visit our Videoconferencing section.

Scholarship programming is available Monday through Friday. Times offered for scholarship programming will be 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. PST (Pacific Standard Time) with a 15 minute flexible start time to accommodate bell schedules. Please book at least two weeks prior to your requested date.

Support is contingent upon the availability of funds and the level of need. We cannot guarantee or predict the availability of funds. Should funds be unavailable at the time your application is approved your school will be placed on a waiting list for funding. Schools remain on the waiting list until they can be served. Scholarships may not be used for programs already scheduled.

We are grateful to the donors who have made the scholarship fund possible and we are working hard to raise continued support. Because funds are limited, we ask that applicants exhaust all funding options before turning to the Aquarium for scholarship support.

All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. Forms submitted without the required fields will delay processing and may be declined.
