Distance Learning at the Aquarium
Bio 190 is the Aquarium’s distance learning program through the Cal State Dominguez Hills young Scholar Program. Through this course, students will be introduced to organisms and habitats found in the Pacific Ocean.
General aspects of marine biology including the principles of physical and biological oceanography, the biological processes of marine life and the ecology of marine environments will be covered live, on-line and through cable TV each fall.
Each fall, the offers high school juniors, seniors, and community college students with at least a B average an opportunity to earn 3 units of college credit by enrolling in Bio 190: Introduction to Marine Life. This distance learning course, taught by staff from the Aquarium of the Pacific, is offered live, on-line and through cable TV. Bio 190 will be broadcast live on Tuesdays from 3:00 to 4:30pm beginning September 13, 2011 and continuing through December 6, 2011.
