Before Your Visit

Before Your Visit

A little preparation and legwork go a long way toward ensuring that your trip is a trouble-free, positive learning experience for you and your students.

  • The Aquarium currently has outdoor lunch dining facilities for you and your students. Upon arrival at the Aquarium of the Pacific, your group will be greeted by a staff member who will store your lunches and take them to your lunch area. Unfortunately, the Aquarium does not provide refrigerated storage. Please make sure your students bring non- perishable lunches.
  • Check out the locations of the lunch space, restrooms, classroom, etc. listed on your confirmation materials. This will give you extra confidence during your visit. Share this information with your chaperones!
  • Pre-determine a goal for the trip by discussing things your students would like to see with your class. The Aquarium is a unique resource; focusing on a topic of study can help direct your students’ energies during their visit.
  • Chaperones are your friends. By fully preparing your chaperones, they can help you reach the goals for your visit.
  • Your time on the bus is a great opportunity for a final meeting with your chaperones– help them feel confident!
  • Having a clear understanding of your trip’s schedule before you arrive will allow you to enjoy the wide variety of habitats at the Aquarium with your students.
