Aquarium Education Program
Wave of the Future: A Coastal Communities Camp
In this camp, participants will explore the connection between life under the sea and our actions on land. Not only will participants discover new information about marine science, but they will apply their passion for the ocean environment by building a sustainable coastal community that serves the needs of citizens while at the same time protecting the environment. Participants will build a model city of Long Beach in the year 2030, electing government officials such as the Mayor along the way. The week will end with an evening presentation of the city model for parents, Aquarium staff, and city officials.
Upon Arrival: Campers will be greeted in the front plaza area of the aquarium at the “Will Call/Group Check-In” area. The classes always start promptly and arriving early is recommended. You may pick up your child at Gate 8 (next to the gift store).
