Aquarium Education Program
Preschool Program: Puffins and Pals
What makes birds different from other animals?
Foster a love for the ocean in your four- to five-year-old child in our series of preschool programs designed to keep even the wiggliest child engaged and entertained.
Each 2-hour class allows children to explore and learn about marine life independently from their parent through games, crafts, tours, snack, animal touch time, and more.
Please note that this is a child only program. If you are interested in joining your preschool child in a class, please see our Saturday Family Fun programs.
Puffins and Pals:
Preoccupied with penguins? Gaga for gulls? Come along with us as we search out birds that make their home near or even on the sea. During this 2-hour program your four- to five-year-old child will:
- Discover the unique characteristics of birds
- Create a pair of craft binoculars to make our birding tour more exciting
- Take a guided tour of Lorikeet Forest, the Shorebird exhibit, and Diving Bird habitat
- Learn the secrets of their feathers
- Play a game illustrating how birds use their different beaks to eat different foods
- Make their own Puffin Food Chain Mobile craft to take home with them.
- Touch animals in our private classroom touch pool
- Enjoy a snack of goldfish crackers and juice
