Junior Biologist Day Camp 1
Older students can dive deeper into the realm of marine science in this hands-on science camp.
Through games, activities, tours, behind the scenes encounters, experiments, and animal interaction, your child will experience the fascinating field of marine biology.
Topics will be covered in more detail than the Ocean Adventure Day Camp, activities and crafts will be more involved, and journaling will become more advanced. Participants will not only have a fun time, but they will leave with a wealth of ocean knowledge.
Week 1 will cover the following topics (subject to change without notice):
Monday: a.m. Aquaristing; p.m. Sharks
Tuesday: a.m. Water; p.m. Mammals
Wednesday: a.m. Adaptations in the Tidepool; p.m. Invertebrates
Thursday: a.m. Extreme Animals; p.m. Algae
Friday: a.m. Fish; p.m. Conservation
Full-day schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
Half-day schedules: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
*Pre-registration required. This day camp is for children only.
Camp includes the following:
- Aquarium animal viewing
- Animal touch
- Activities and/or experiments related to the topic
- Biofact discovery touch
- Behind the scenes animal observation
- Games
- Day Camp Journal
- Daily Craft
Not included:
- Snack (Parents: please include one snack for your child for 1/2 day, 2 snacks for full day)
- Lunch (Parents: please include lunch for full day)
Due to behind-the-scenes access and game time, we ask that your child wear comfortable closed-toe shoes everyday. Please avoid sandals and flip-flops.
