Aquarium Education Program

Job Shadow: Aquarist

Aquarist Job Shadow
Taking care of fish is a fun and rewarding hobby, and it can even be a career!  Aquarists are people that take care of fish and invertebrates, and in this Job Shadow program you will gain some hands on experience at the Aquarium helping to feed our animals.  Participants will prepare and feed food to a variety of exhibits, learn how to maintain and clean exhibits, meet our dive team, and encounter animals up close in our behind the scenes areas.

These classes are designed for the students in grades 7-12 interested in a career in marine science.  Students will roll up their sleeves and get some hands-on experience on what it takes to be an aquarist.  This series of three-hour classes typically runs the first Saturday of every month.

Participants must wear closed-toe shoes for behind the scenes access!
