Aquarium Education Program
Aqua Tots: Colors of the Ocean
Colors of the Ocean
This program focuses on the many colors in the ocean. We will investigate why some animals are very colorful and how others use camouflage to blend into their environment. In the aquarium we will seek out the colors in the sea and even find some animals that use their colors to try to hide. Students will learn about the master of camouflage, the octopus, and take home a colorful keepsake book they make themselves.
Aqua Tots are a series of programs developed for two to three-year-olds with their parent or adult chaperone. Because this class is specifically designed for two to three year olds, any younger or older siblings of the child should stay at home and cannot be admitted to the class. These programs give students a first look into ocean life while allowing for adult/child interaction. Each Aqua Tot Program focuses on a particular concept and expands upon that concept during the class. Because of the length of the class, programs do not include a snack time.
