Danger on the Delta Summary Report
Is Southern California Betting Its Future on an Unstable Water System?
On March 13, 2007 the Aquarium of the Pacific held an important half-day conference/workshop entitled: “Danger on the Delta: Is Southern California Betting Its Future on an Unstable Water System?” Stephen Flynn’s new book, The Edge of Disaster, was the initiating event, he participated in the conference and gave an evening lecture.
Our strategy was to identify a number of options we could use to fill in for the loss of water supply from the Delta and evaluate them in terms of how much, for how long, and how long would it take to exercise the options. Several senior representatives of most of the major water agencies in Southern California, along with academic scientists, and representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations participated in the event.
