Love is in the Air for Gray Whales Too! | Kera
When we get in to February, the first thing I think of is Valentine’s Day. It looks like the grays ways feel the same way because on February 1, 2013, we had some incredible mating behavior with gray whales right in front of our boat. Read on to find out what that encounter was like.

Our First Few Weeks on the Water of 2013 | Kera
They started just like 2012…with orcas!
I would say 2012 was one of the best years on the water for me. Why? Because I FINALLY saw orca whales in our waters off of Long Beach with the first time being January 2, 2012 to be exact. A day I will never forget.

The Summer Interns Have Arrived! | Kera
And we’re just waiting on the blues to arrive too!
Three times a year I go through many applications trying to figure out how I’m going to decide which interns to bring on for out Photo ID internship. It’s no easy task and I can tell you there are MANY college students and graduates that truly care about the Earth. As I have to do each time, I’ve narrowed it down to four interns that have just joined the Aquarium team to help protect blue whales. Read on to meet the new interns and find out what their summer will look like!

At one point there were even five recorded feeding on some krill. Now it’s our turn! We had our first blue whale sightings just this last week! And to top it off, orcas AGAIN!
