Hello everyone, it’s been an exciting time on the water with all of the northbound gray whales we’re spotting, the fin whales, and the Pacific white-sided dolphins.

Well gray whale season the past couple weeks has been very fun for us, we’ve seen plenty of northbound gray whales (one even playing in the kelp), fin whales, lots of dolphins, not too many cow calf pairs yet though. But don’t worry! They’re probably on their way.

Even with the wind and the cooler temperatures we’re still getting lots of fin and gray whale sightings out on the water along with the many dolphins, seals and sea lions, and even a shark!

We’ve had really productive whale watches the past couple of weeks, lots of dolphins (including my favorite, the Pacific white-sided), fin whales, gray whales, breaching whales, and even a humpback whale. Our new interns are in full swing, taking some amazing photos for you all to explore our local ocean life.

Since our last blog we’ve had a lot of great sightings on the water. Not only have we had great fin whale and gray whale sightings, breaching grays, dolphins, but another visit from the transient orca! The whale watch was also able to view the orca in the middle of a hunt.

It’s been amazing observing over 8 humpback whales over the past couple of weeks. We’ve also seen tons of dolphins, a few fin whales, and even briefly a blue whale! No pictures of the blue unfortunately, but check out all the amazing humpbacks and see how many you can tell are different.
