Grays and Fins Galore

We’ve had really productive whale watches the past couple of weeks, lots of dolphins (including my favorite, the Pacific white-sided), fin whales, gray whales, breaching whales, and even a humpback whale. Our new interns are in full swing, taking some amazing photos for you all to explore our local ocean life.

So Much Wildlife! | James S.

So Much Wildlife!

We’ve had some exciting days on the water the past month. I’m sure many folks saw in the news the report about the orca sighting, we’ve also had Risso’s dolphin sightings, the pleasant surprise of multiple minke whale sightings, and lots of common and bottlenose dolphins. There were even a couple of sightings of blue whales around the beginning of the month.

Minke Whales and More! | James S.

Minke Whales and More!

We’ve had a great couple weeks of sightings and even had some great minke whale sightings. Normally we call them “stinky minkes” because of their elusive behavior. But these past few sightings have shown our guests how beautiful they can be.

Whales Are Still Here!

We’ve had a fun couple of weeks for September, we’ve seen lots of dolphins, some whales, another blue whale, and the rare brown booby bird! Yes their name is kind of goofy, but these are a beautiful group of birds.
