Volunteers share their love of the Aquarium and its animals with public | Josie
Whenever the Aquarium’s marketing department gets a request from an outside organization that would like to have someone come to speak about our operation to a group or present information at fiestas and other events, it is volunteers who take the ball and run with it, sharing our joys and the wonders of the Pacific Ocean with others.

Giving Aquarium Tours is an enjoyable pastime | Josie
I love giving tours of the Aquarium of the Pacific to friends and relatives who seem to enjoy having a personal guide who I can share all sorts of interesting and amazing facts with. Learning, and sharing my knowledge about the ocean are among the reasons I enjoy volunteering here so much.

It ain’t easy bein’ green… or is it? | Josie
The Aquarium of the Pacific’s behind-the-scenes Green Team is helping staff members become more and more green through various activities that include such things as “Caught in the Act,” awards that go to people caught in the act of doing something to help save our planet—like using washable mugs for coffee—and a recycled art contest, both held in conjunction with April’s Earth Week.

Here’s a look at what is happening and some of the things we can do to help slow or even reverse the problem.

Ocean on the Edge | Josie
A special focus for our tenth anniversary
As we embark on our 10th year as the Aquarium of the Pacific, we are looking at the world ocean and the problems it faces as global climate change continues to be exacerbated by human behavior. If we reduce, reuse, recycle, and rethink how we live our daily lives, we can make a difference and help save our planet!
