Where Are The Blue Whales?!? HERE! | Kera  buttonLink

Where Are The Blue Whales?!? HERE!

This year has had a little bit of a slow start with the blue whales. Normally June is when they start to trickle in and by mid-July our sightings have increased. Talking About Urban Sea Turtles | Hugh  buttonLink

Talking About Urban Sea Turtles

Come learn about a local endangered species.

On August 8th my wife Pam and I will be part of a panel discussion at the Aquarium of the Pacific on a population of an endangered species that has chosen an improbable environmental niche in which to survive, the Green Sea Turtles of the San Gabriel River. Dan Lawson of NOAA, Pam and the Aquarium vet Lance Adams will talk about the recent research on these animals and the rehabilitation and tracking of stranded turtles. Many of my sea turtle images from the river will be used in the talks.

The Summer Interns Have Arrived! | Kera  buttonLink

The Summer Interns Have Arrived!

And we’re just waiting on the blues to arrive too!

Three times a year I go through many applications trying to figure out how I’m going to decide which interns to bring on for out Photo ID internship. It’s no easy task and I can tell you there are MANY college students and graduates that truly care about the Earth. As I have to do each time, I’ve narrowed it down to four interns that have just joined the Aquarium team to help protect blue whales. Read on to meet the new interns and find out what their summer will look like!

Read on to find out how much of this we’ve seen so far!
