A Day Full of New and Unusual Experiences

The Aquarium got a visit from some cool (literally) birds as I fed some bat rays and collected plankton straight from the ocean! This doesn’t happen much at all, so I was quite excited.

The reticulate whiptail ray in Shark Lagoon indulges in the best food daily. To keep her from getting fat, her portions are controlled but that does not stop her from trying to eat her roommates’ leftovers.

The Bull Shark is Going on a Road Trip

Our bull shark (Carcharhinus leucas), the only one on display in the western United States, will be moving to a new home out of state soon. She is outgrowing her current habitat in Shark Lagoon.
