Yeah! New Aquarium 101 program went well!

The volunteer training team launched our first one-day Aquarium 101 session, which despite a few glitches, went quite well, much to our relief and that of our director of Volunteer Services. What a fun day we had, too, energized, as always, by the incredible enthusiasm and interest of our new volunteers.

American Goldeneyes Land at the Aquarium of the Pacific.

Two female and two male American Goldeneyes, (Bucephala clangula Americana) now in quarantine, are destined for the Shorebird Sanctuary ecosystem sometime in January 2008.

German Guests Get Private Tour

Through my blog, I met two of the nicest people, who came from Germany to visit Long Beach for two days before embarking on a cruise to Mexico and Puerto Rico. The day ended with a $20 donation to the Aquarium of the Pacific’s education department.

Kindergarten Is Great for People of All Ages

Going to kindergarten can be loads of fun, even when you’re an adult like me. I greatly enjoy my monthly forays back into the classroom worlds of little children, where I get to see the enthusiasm and lust for learning that one experiences when young.
