The San Gabriel River is one of the main watersheds of the Los Angeles Basin. It is also the home of the Northern most colony of Green Sea Turtles and offers prime viewing opportunities for this threatened species.

Meet Heidi and Anderson, the first chicks born at the June Keyes Penguin Habitat. This is their story, from egg to fully feathered juveniles.
In this blog you get a chance to meet Heidi and Anderson, Floyd and Roxy’s first chicks. They hatched this past June 19th and 25th, and are the first chicks born at the June Keyes Penguin Habitat. I got the chance to help raise them both, and will give you a glimpse into what it was like to watch them grow into the “teens” that they are today!
