It’s Time For Big Blue! | Kera
On June 15 we officially ended gray whale season and switched over to blue whale watching. That means longer trips and slightly different trip times. The switch to a longer trip has already started paying off as we’ve had a handful of blue whale sightings already!

Bubbling with Penguin Enrichment Ideas | Hugh
Penguins checking out soap bubbles
Just like with our marine mammals the staff at the Aquarium of the Pacific likes to come up with ideas to keep our penguins mentally stimulated or as I like to put it, entertained. This week I’d like to share some images of an enrichment session that we recently gave our Magellanic Penguins. One that was just bubbling with excitement for the penguins.

A Penguin Who Tweets | Hugh
Avery Tweets from June Keyes
One of my favorite penguins of the group known as the “Brazilians” has a new hobby. Since the June Keyes Exhibit opened Avery the Magellanic Penguin has gone up into the cloud so to speak and set up his own Twitter account. This week I’d like to share a few of his tweets.

The Summer Interns Have Arrived! | Kera
And we’re just waiting on the blues to arrive too!
Three times a year I go through many applications trying to figure out how I’m going to decide which interns to bring on for out Photo ID internship. It’s no easy task and I can tell you there are MANY college students and graduates that truly care about the Earth. As I have to do each time, I’ve narrowed it down to four interns that have just joined the Aquarium team to help protect blue whales. Read on to meet the new interns and find out what their summer will look like!
