Spending Christmas with the Critters | Hugh
Even though the Aquarium of the Pacific was closed on Christmas Day there was a small cadre of husbandry folks spending part of their holiday taking care of the animals. For this volunteer it was a small way of giving back to the critters that have given him so much joy over the years.

Fin Whales are Flying! | Kera
That's more rare than pigs flying!
I thought for sure I’d seen something spectacular when I saw a fin whale fluke this last year since they are a whale that is very shy with their tale. But on December 17, 2009, they decided to show me something even more amazing… a breaching show!

HOLIDAY TREATS FOR THE OTTERS | Hugh
A snowy scene complete with a snowman. Curious eyes glancing from fur coats scanning the scene for presents left for them. Holiday Cheer filling the air as stockings are hung and colorful strings of lights glow. Tis the season for the sea otters of the Aquarium of the Pacific to enjoy the festivities of the “Holiday Treats For The Animals.

They’re All Heading South | Kera
We’re a bit into December now and at this time we’re waiting for the gray whales to start passing by as they head south for the winter. While we’re out looking for the first grays, besides looking at the seals, sea lions, a variety of dolphins and sea birds, we’re STILL seeing blue whales!
