Ocean Governance
Because the ocean belongs to all of us collectively, it is known as a commons. While there is jurisdiction over it here and there for practical reasons, it belongs to no one and it belongs to everyone. The only way to protect the commons is through shared governance and through each of us “owning it” personally.
The Aquarium of the Pacific invites you to help our ocean, our climate, and our planet by voting and by participating in our ACT NOW campaign. On your next trip to the Aquarium, please take a few moments to voice your concerns about any ocean issues by filling out an ACT NOW card. Books with addresses of your senators and representative will be on hand, and the Aquarium will mail them on your behalf.
